StayUpdatedNow is a fan site dedicated to Manchester United youth and academy football. This page explains what data is collected, why, and how it is used. There is no small print designed to catch you out — this is a fan site, not a data brokerage.

What we collect

• Forum accounts — if you register on the forum, we store your chosen username, email address, and a hashed (not plain text) password. You are not required to use your real name.
• Forum posts — anything you write on the forum is stored so other members can read it. Do not post personal information you would not want to be publicly visible.
• Login sessions — a session cookie is set when you log in to keep you signed in. An optional "remember me" token is stored if you tick that box.
• Thread visits — we record when you last viewed each thread so we can show you which ones have new activity. This data is only visible to you.

What we do not collect

• Payment or financial information of any kind.
• Location data beyond what is implicit in your IP address.
• Data sold or passed to third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

• YouTube — video thumbnails and metadata are fetched via the YouTube Data API. When you watch a video, it loads within a YouTube embed, and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that interaction.
• Man Utd fixture data — upcoming fixture information is fetched from a public API provided by manutd.com. No personal data is sent to that service.

Cookies

We use one session cookie to keep you logged in to the forum. No marketing or analytics cookies are set. If you do not use the forum, no cookies are stored.

Data retention

Forum account data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and all associated posts by contacting us (details below). Thread visit records are deleted automatically if your account or the relevant thread is removed.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
